Updating

Automatic Updates

AP Buddy ships with automatic update checks on launch, and every 6 hours thereafter. You can also manually trigger an update check by clicking the version number in the bottom right corner of the main window.

When AP Buddy detects a new version it will download it and then wait for you to close the program entirely to install it. The bottom left corner will indicate when a new version is ready for install, and after closing AP Buddy the update will be automatically installed. After a few seconds your AP Buddy instance will be updated to the newest version and ready for use!

Manual Updates

If for any reason auto-updates are giving you trouble, manual updating is always a valid path as well. Simply download the newest version for your operationg system.

Windows

If on Windows, simply double click the installer and AP Buddy will update. None of your settings will be affected.

Mac

If on Mac, simply open the DMG file, drag and drop it into the Applications folder, and overwrite if prompted. None of your settings will be affected.

Troubleshooting

Automatic Updates

If automatic updates are giving you the following error, wait 60 seconds before trying to re-open AP Buddy after it downloads a new update. AP Buddy installs the new update after the program closes, not immediately upon download. This way, any tasks that are running/scheduled will not be interrupted every time an update is available.
